After an eight-year hiatus, Purab Kohli is returning to the Rock On!! franchise and he says he found it difficult to slip back into his role. “It was extremely difficult because of the kind of actor I am. I am no longer what I was eight years ago; I am a different person now. I found it extremely hard to get back into the zone that I had left eight years ago.” While some of the main characters have undergone major changes in the sequel, Purab’s character KD has not changed much. Purab asserts, “Director Shujaat Saudagar wanted KD to retain a lot of things that he was in the first film. The difference in KD is that he used to wear his heart on his sleeves, and he loved his friends and music, but in the sequel he tries hard to let go of that person.” Purab has a lot on his plate. But he refuses to assess the future. “I have no expectations from the sequel. Now, of course there’s a definite hope that the hard work we have put into the film will be enjoyed and appreciated by people.”
