MUMBAI: Pooja Batra’s eight-year-old married life seems to have hit the rocks. The long legged beauty has filed for divorce from her LA based husband, Dr. Sonu Ahluwalia, an orthopedic surgeon.
Says a source, “Pooja and her husband are separated and will be filing for divorce in Los Angeles. She moved out of Sonu’s house a few months ago.”
Pooja’s frequent visits to India gave rise to the speculation that there was trouble brewing in the marriage. Sources also say that the couple has been fighting over whether they want children or not. While Sonu is desperate to become a father, Pooja is in denial mode as she does not want to ruin her 5’10 body.
It is also speculated that she is trying to make a career in Hollywood. But another insider states that there is nothing of the sort.
“Sonu is a famous doctor in Los Angeles and a fantastic guy. He bought her a lovely home and a swanky car and was paying for her acting and make-up classes. When they came down to Mumbai in 2010, they looked very happy together.”
