The trailer of the film "Badlapur" stresses the fact that one should not miss the beginning of the film. Director Sriram Raghavan explained why he is stressing on that point.

"In very early part of the film something happens, which if you miss you are probably seeing a different story because you don't have that information. The story starts from the word go and if people come in late they may not understand. Old movies used to have this 'don't miss the beginning, don't reveal the end'. If you miss the beginning, see the next show," said Raghavan.

The director describes the film as a "dark uncompromising drama film with action, suspense and thrills'. "But essentially it is a story of two men and the crime that binds them," he said.

The film stars Varun Dhawan, Huma Qureshi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Yami Gautam and Divya Dutta.
