Rohit Shetty Moves On To His Next Ram Lakhan

Anita Britto

Having moved ahead from his second hit with Shah Rukh Khan, Dilwale, director Rohit Shetty is now concentrating on his next biggie, a remake of the 1989 Subhash Ghai superhit Ram Lakhan.

Buzz is that Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor are likely to be cast in the titular roles which were once played with elan by Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor but Rohit says he has not finalised the cast. He reveals, “There has been lots of speculation about the cast. We are still writing the film. For the last three-four months we were working on Dilwale and we didn’t get time but now my team will start working on it. By mid next year we will finalise everything.”

Insist with the director that he must have thought about some actor and he smiles, “If I tell you who is in my head, everyone will land up in my office tomorrow... it’s better that I don’t say it.”

Quiz Rohit about his reported meetings with Shahid Kapoor and he demurs, “We have met but it was just like that; nothing to do with films”
