Yash Raj Films, MSM Motion Pictures Team Up for Piku

India West

Mumbai — MSM Motion Pictures, a division of Multi Screen Media Pvt. Ltd., has partnered with India’s leading film production and distribution giant, Yash Raj Films, for the worldwide theatrical distribution of their upcoming family comedy drama “Piku,” directed by Shoojit Sircar.

The move further strengthens the 20-year association of YRF and MSM Pvt. Ltd. (which also owns Sony Entertainment Television, for whom YRF had made television shows) and will ensure that YRF’s distribution network takes this film to not just domestic and established international audiences, but also to non-traditional markets globally.

A quirky take on a father-daughter relationship, the film brings Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan together for the first time. Moushumi Chatterjee and Jishu Sengupta portray supporting roles and Bachchanwill be seen as a long-haired Bengali man with a big belly.

This is also Padukone’s first standalone title role. The film has been co-produced by MSM Motion Pictures along with Saraswati Creations and Rising Sun Films.
