Marathi film actress who was last seen in Comedy Nights Bachao Tazaa will be starring in Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal starrer Raazi. The actress took to her Twitter account to share the news. “#newrole.. start of a #newjourney with some awesome people ... 1 st day on the sets of #Raazi ... ganapati bappa moraya.” (Sic)

The team has recently started shooting for the film which is based on Harinder Sikka’s best-selling novel, Calling Sehmat. The film is based on a Kashmiri spy played by Alia Bhatt who gets married to a Pakistani army officer (Vicky Kaushal).

Earlier the film was supposed to be shot extensively in Kashmir but, recently, it was reported due to security issues the makers have thought to recreate the set in Mumbai. The team has not revealed the location of the shoot but as per the latest reports, it is being shot on the real locations of Kashmir. Apparently, filmmaker Vishal Bharadwaj who has earlier shot his movies in Kashmir is trying to make safe arrangements for the cast. 

The spokesperson of the actress revealed that “Amruta’s role is prominent. She gave her first shot today in a studio in Mumbai but we are not sure whether the rest of the team is shooting in Mumbai or not, as the actress is not allowed to speak anything about it.” 

Being helmed by Meghna Gulzar, the film is expected to release in 2018.
