Actor and model Poonam Pandey, who was last seen on Kangana Ranaut's reality show 'Lock Upp', has died at 32 of cervical cancer, according to her manager Parul Chawla. She passed away on Thursday night.
A post on Pandey's official Instagram account read, "This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared."
Poonam had debuted with 'Nashaa', an erotic drama, in 2013 and was known for her sensual photos and videos.
She also featured in cameo appearances in films such as 'Love Is Poison' (Kannada), and The Journey of Karma.
Pandey had announced on 14 March 2011 that she would strip if India won the cricket World Cup. When India did win the World Cup that year, Pandey said she didn’t want to break the law, adding that it was a publicity stunt.
The news of her untimely demise has left the industry in shock.
Actor Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram and wrote, “This is so sad, losing a young woman to cancer is a catastrophe. Om Shanti”.
Actor Karanvir Bohra, who was also a participant on 'Lock Upp', tweeted. “I’m still in disbelief #PoonamPandey I pray this news is not true.”
