KANNADA: The muhurat function of one more love story — Murali Meets Meera — was held at Sri Kanteera Studios recently. Prajwal plays the role of Murali while Reema acts as Meera in the movie.
Mangesh, whose real name is Mahesh Rao, is handling the megaphone for this film. Murali Meets Meera is his second film as director. Earlier, he handled the megaphone for Dhimaaku in which Naveen Krishna played the lead role.
“My original name is Mahesh Rao. A numerologist advised me to change it to Mangesh. Many people thought that I am from Tamil Nadu. Now, I have decided to retain my original name,” explains Mahesh Rao.
Rao said that the script and songs are the highlights of Murali Meets Meera.
“Prajwal plays a mature character role in this film. This will prove to be a big break in his career,” says Rao.
Director Yogesh Hunasur makes debut as producer with this film. “Rao and I prepared the script for this film. I believe that Rao is the suitable person to handle the megaphone for this film,” says Hunasur.
It was said that producer and director got the feedback on heroine Reema Varma from the directors of the movies Gubbi and Shourya. “We selected Reema only after getting the feedback from them. She is very nice and cooperative,” said Rao.
The director said that Murali Meets Meera would be the first Kannada film to be made in the backdrop of mythology. “We are all familiar with the story that explains how Meera used to wait for Krishna. In this film too, Meera waits for Murali. It is a wonderful love story,” said the director.
Sharan, Achyuth, Girish and director Satya play key character roles in this film. The shooting will be held in and around Bangalore.
“We are planning to go abroad for a song sequence. We are yet to finalise the location,” said the director.
