BANGALORE: Kalgejje is director A Bangaaru’s first movie but he has failed to select a good and strong script for his maiden venture as a full-fledged director. But, senior artiste Ananth Nag and music director Gandharva have saved this movie from crashing beyond redemption.

Anant Nag's dialogues have the potential to make you search for your handkerchief to wipe out your tears. Nag's dialogue delivery and body language deserve appreciation. Parents, who expect their children to be recognised in the society, may become vicarious while watching this particular scene.

Though all the songs are good, the particular song — Badukunali bayaside... — has meaningful lyrics.

The movie is about Arathi (Roopika), a student of classical dance school. Arathi's mother (Pavithra Lokesh) wants her to become a cinema artiste. Gowrishankar alias Gowri (Vishwas) is interested to become music director while his father (Anant Nag) wants him to get a job for livelihood.

Meanwhile, Arathi falls in love with Gowrishankar. (Director failed to substantiate the reason for her to fall in love with Gowrishankar). Gowrishankar's mother (Sumithra) also likes Arathi but the latter's mother has other ideas.

Gowrishankar comes to Bangalore to realise his long-cherished dream of becoming a music director.

Rangaayana Raghu, Pavithra Lokesh and Sumithra have provided a good support. It would have been better if a few dialogues of Tabala Nani were deleted because such gestures and meaning of those dialogues are unnecessary.

The movie is worth watching only if you are capable of putting up with the slow narration during the pre-intermission session.
