If the quality of the script is of any indication, it seems director Om Saiprakash is yet to learn a lesson even after his recent movie Devarukotta Thangi crashed at the box office.

One has to struggle a lot to find out quality or richness in his latest movie Sri Nagashakthi. A particular sequence of a girl transforming into a snake is far from convincing.

The girl is punished for her parents’ sins. The director has to realise that no God or Goddess punishes children for the wrong doings of parents.

The other scene, where the hero allows a dancer, her sister and brother to stay at his farm house without knowing their background, looks incongruous.

Sri Nagashakthi is about Naganna (Shivakumar) and Seshanna (Ramkumar) who were born with the blessings of Nagadevathe. While Naganna devotes himself to serve Goddess Nagadevathe, Seshanna tills land for livelihood. He marries Nagaratna (Shruthi).

Meanwhile, Kanakavalli (Sangeetha), a dancer, comes to the village with her brother and sister.

They request Seshanna to provide a shelter. He asks them to stay at his farm house. Kanakavalli’s evil eye falls on Naganna. She pretends to be drowning in a lake and gets closer to him. He forgets worshipping of Nagadevathe and spends a night with Kanakavalli. Later, he dies of snake bite.

Angry over Naganna’s death, Seshanna decides to stop worshipping Nagadevathe and tries to kill snakes.

However, circumstances compel him to change his attitude towards Nagadevathe.

He struggles a lot to redeem his daughter from Nagadevathe’s curse. The movie ends with Nagadevathe helping Seshanna’s daughter to become normal.

It is quite surprising to see Sangeetha, who has always portrayed sister-in-law roles, playing the role of a vamp in this movie. Tennis Krishna has played a transgender.

His dialogue delivery and body language are good. It is worth watching only if you have no other alternative to spend your leisure time.
