One more feather can be added to the cap of ‘Teenage — Yee Vayasse Onthara’ with the completion of shooting an underwater song sequence at a swimming pool behind St Joseph’s High School on Saturday. Kishan, known as Master Kishan, and ‘Ringa Ringa’ song fame Tanvi are the lead pair in this film that is aimed for teenagers.

Kishan’s father Srikanth is playing a double role being the producer and director of the film.

Though a few Kannada films such as Dr Rajkumar’s ‘Ondhu Muththina Kathe’ directed by Shankar Nag, and ‘Shaapa’, directed by Ashok Patil and stars Ramesh Aravind and B C Patil have a few underwater scenes.

However, ‘Teenage — Yee Vayasse Onthara’ has the privilege of shooting such a song sequence. “We spent around Rs 40 lakh for this song. Both Kishan and the unit members underwent training in swimming and other things for a few months. Unit members were insured Rs One Crore and we paid a premium of Rs 25,000 to an insurance company. We completed the shooting of this song in two days and more than 90 people took part in it,” said Srikanth.

The song ‘Ondhondhe kanasu jame ago vayassu…. badalaithu manasu’ was penned down by Shivananje Gowda while Vipin worked behind the camera. According to Srikanth, this song is already in to the Limca Book of Records and it has the chance to find a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Kishan already created a record for being the world’s youngest director of the film ‘Care of Footpath’ (at the age of nine).

Srikanth said that he has a plan to shoot another song for the promotion of the film with thousands of children. It will be shot in Bangalore, Tumkur, Chitradurga, Davangere, Mysore, Hubli, Dharwad, Gadag, Belgaum, Bidar, Gulbarga, Gangavathi, Mangalore and Shimoga. Choreographer Murali said that it took him three months to compose the choreography for this song.

Satishkumar, who has won the Ekalavya award in swimming, supervised the shooting.

“We assigned Gemini to provide the graphics for this song. Mass Madha has also composed three stunt sequences,” said Srikanth.

Narrating the hardship he underwent during the shoot, Kishan said, “It was a nice and different experience for me. We thought of shooting it at a lake but decided against it since the lake was not a suitable location. We had also thought of selecting a well but that too did not work out. Finally, we zeroed in on this swimming pool for the song sequence,” said Kishan.

Expressing gratitude for offering her a chance to act in Teenage...., Tanvi said, “I learnt a lot during the shooting. Kishan was truly an inspiration for me. I hope the audience will encourage this film.” Apart from Kishan and Tanvi, Apoorva Arora, who acted in film ‘Bubble Gum’, Priya Khanna from Australia, Giorgia Valenti of Italy, Master Sai Krishna, Master Lakshman, V Manohar, Jayashree, Tabala Nani and Shivadwaj are the star cast in this film.
