Aindrita joins 'Kaddipudi' for a 'classic' number

A Sharadhaa

If rumours are to be believed, it was time for Ramya (Padmavathi) Ragini Dwivedi ('Thuppa beka Thuppa') and Pooja Gandhi ('Champakali') to be alert as the mill had it that a new entrant was all set to heat up the screens with an item number in Sandalwood. The buzz was for Shivarajkumar-Radhika Pandit starrer 'Kaddipudi' and the item girl was to be Aindrita Ray (Andy).

Andy, who took Sandalwood by storm with films like 'Junglee' and 'Manasare', shuns the rumours and says it is a classy sequence.

“Let me clarify, it is not an item number, but a classical song,” says Aindrita who is not keen to shake leg for item numbers. “I have done guest appearances but have never done an item song. I accepted this offer because it is classical and also because of director Soori, as he gave a hit to my career with the film 'Junglee',” she added.

Having worked with Soori, she says that each frame of his is artistic with lot of colours added. “Technically, he gives a different touch to his songs like the way he does for his films,” she explains.

The actress is looking forward to shoot for the song and wants to perfect her moves. “I am yet to know about the choreographer for this particular song. My clothes will be designed by Shachina who was associated with me in Manasare,” says Andy, who is still not sure whether it will be a solo or whether she will shake a leg with Shivarajkumar.

“I think it will be a solo. However, I would love to match steps with Shivanna if he is there throughout the song, as this will give me an opportunity to work with him for the first time,” she says.
