Cast and crew confusions and production delays seem to found a home for themselves in the project Premaya Namaha. First, it was the title. The film was initially called Yenidu Manasali and was to be produced by Niyaaz Ahmed and directed by Srikanth. Vijay Raghavendra was to play the lead along with Bhuvan Ponanna and Ishita Dutta, who is actress Tanushree Dutta’s sister and would have made her Sandalwood debut with this movie.
Then, we heard that the name of the movie had been changed. But the film did not take off on time and Ishita backed out. Later Harshika Poonacha came on-board and Vijay Raghavendra was replaced by Fayaz Khan, son of former minister of Karnataka, Jamir Ahmed.
Later, Niyaz decided to turn cameraman along with being the producer. Matters didn’t end there as Harshika, Bhuvan and Barbie Handa all walked out. Apparently, Harshika refused the project due to differences with Niyaz. Also, she did not wish to be part of a multi-heroine film. “I was approached for this movie eight months ago and I was told that Bhuvan would be playing the lead. In between, I did not hear from them. But when they came back to me, they had not only made changes in the story but had also roped in two more heroines. Finally, the film which started out with one heroine, now had three! “Previously I had made an announcement that I would be taking up only solo projects and I am still sticking to it. So I backed out of the film. Even my co-star Bhuvan faced a lot of problems,” Harshika stated.
Now it has been announced that actress Ramya Barna and Reshmi will be the two heroines for Premaya Namaha. Reshmi seemed to have had the perfect launch with Soori’s super hit film Duniya, but she could not carry the success forward. She did make a comeback with Ashakiranagalu which was an art film. But today she is glad to be part of Premaya Namaha, which according to her will bring out her glam avatar. “I was rejected by directors for my weight issues. I realised that if I need to continue in this industry, I need to first groom myself and so I ensured that I lose weight. And of course, it has helped me to fetch a role of my age,” said Reshmi who is aware that she had replaced Harshika. “Right now I am only thinking of grabbing opportunities coming my way. I regret having lost time because of my casual approach. I only hope that this movie will take my career further,” she said.
