Superro Ranga to Hit Screens on Uppi's Birthday

Express News Service

Director Sadhu Kokila and producer K Manju are kicked about their upcoming film Superro Ranga, which they plan to release on Upendra’s birthday on September 18.

Manju announced the release date at the film’s audio function held on Saturday. “Kick, which was remade in Tamil and Hindi,  did good business because of its content and it will do well in Kannada too. I have produced around 37 films and I am aware of films that fared well and those that have flopped. I am confident of Superro...,” he said. The film, made at a budget of `9 crore, features a number with Upendra and Kriti Kharbhanda which alone cost the makers `15 lakh. Uppi has around 25 costume changes in the song!

Kokila too is happy about “carrying out the  task entrusted to him by Uppi”.

He says, “People will enjoy Superro...just like they enjoyed the original Kick in  Telugu and the Hindi remake. There is no moment of dullness”.

Superro...is Upendra’s third film with Kokila and his second with Manju. Apart from Uppi and Kriti, the film stars Raghu Mukherji, and Rangayana Raghu. Ashok Kashyap is the cinematographer and Arjun Janya is the music director.

Meanwhile, the film’s audio function garnered quite a few laughs when actress Sanjjanaa referred to Manju as Manjjanna. “The only brother in the industry I have is producer K Manju whom I call K Manjanna.  I tied a rakhi and received `50,001 from him,” she said.

With no other actor considering Manju a brother figure, thanks to his flamboyant lifestyle, Sanjjanaa’s affection rang in the laughter.
