Erica Eyes B-Town

A Sharadhaa

Erica Fernandes has finished shooting for the film Buguri. The final schedule concluded with a song sequence, and the young actor spoke to City Express about the experience.

“When we work together for close to 100 days, we become more like a family. We all connect to tell different stories, and in the process, we get to meet different people,” says the actress, adding that she looks look forward to watching Buguri on the big screen.

This is Erica’s second film in Kannada after Ninnindale. Despite being an outsider in the industry, she had a clear understanding of director M D Sridhar’s vision and her character in Buguri.

“I did not have any confusion about my role because Sridhar was very up-front. Actors like me who speak a different language find it tough when the assistants come to us and try to explain what the director wants for a particular scene. In the bargain, they put in their own inputs and cause confusion. But this time, Sridhar himself explained all the scenes to me and that helped me understand the role better,” she explains.

About actor Ganesh, with whom she has worked with in Buguri, she says, “He is a total entertainer not only on screen but off screen as well. Ganesh has a lot of energy and he is fun.”  With Erica’s Tamil project Vizhithiru on the verge of completion, the actress says that she will soon finalise  another film in the language. “I have not signed up for any Kannada films as I am currently in the process of reading scripts,” she reveals.

Erica hints at making a move to Bollywood. Apparently, she has an exciting project in hand, details of which she will reveal once she signs on the dotted line. “Working in the South is tougher because of the languages. But I won’t have to prepare much for Hindi films. I look forward to doing a good film in Bollywood,” she concludes.
