BANGALORE: The success of a film only adds  to the responsibility of an actor. Sri Murali is going through the exact same thing. The Ugramm star has apparently rejected 67 scripts till date and is yet to find one that matches his expectations. He did not have 67 reasons for rejecting the films, but says, “I want to be part of a film that is better than Ugramm. Ugramm was a trendsetter in the Kannada industry, and after that, I should be more responsible while choosing scripts,” he says.

Sri Murali is aware that the audience expects more from him now, and feels that it will only push him to do a better job. “I am okay with working on a film after making small corrections. But sadly, a lot of the offers that I get have an overdose of something in the subject. The projects are way above my age and career graph. And then there are subjects that are similar to the ones I have already worked in. I am looking for characterisations with strong values and the people who watch the film should feel that I was sensible to have taken it up,” he says.

Having said that, Sri Murali remembers the deadline that he set for himself to fix up with a subject. Since Ugramm has given him so much, wouldn’t it be better for him to work with director Prashanth Neel again? “I would definitely want to, but at present, he has some other commitments. We will be joining hands again and will soon make an announcement of our next venture,” he says.

Sri Murali’s experience in the industry has only made him a responsible actor today. “I have seen the best and the worst and I am back seeing the best again. This time, there will be a lot of pressure on me and my next move. I have realised that it is not about the numbers, but about what you give. I don’t want go by the old formula anymore and I will not just sit on one success. There are some things that are happening and can be revealed only once something is finalised. Meanwhile, we will soon have a 100th day function for Ugramm. Prashanth and I will announce of our next project then,” he says.
