BANGALORE: Malleswaram police arrested a junior actor for stealing bikes who was absconding for 12 years.
The accused has been identified as Narasimha Murthy (44), a resident of Vidhana Soudha Layout near Hesaraghatta.
Police said Murthy was sent to jail after he allegedly stole 22 bikes in and around the city in 2001 and 2002. Later, he was released on bail and did not attend court proceedings for 12 years despite several warrants. He claimed he was unable to attend court as he was living in Hyderabad.
A special team, formed to nab the accused, arrested him based on a tip-off.
Contrasting Acting Career
Murthy, who has acted in more than 30 Kannada films, had mostly played characters of police officers.
