Anand Jigs his Way to the Top in Dancing Star 2

Express News Service

Master Anand has won the second season of the dance show, Dancing Stars 2,  beating 15 contestants, pocketing a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.  He was also given a trophy in the finale of the show hosted by actor and anchor Akul Balaji and judged by senior actor V Ravichandran, Priyamani and dancer Mayuri Upadhya.

“Winning the reality show has proven to me that hard work and strategy pays. Dancing Stars is all about finding a concept around a song while bringing new forms on the stage. So, I worked hard on the concepts which had to be portrayed in just three minutes. The credit should also go to the upcoming and talented choreographer Pavan and dancer Sushmita, who shook a leg with me in all my performances,” says Anand.

While he will continue to be a part of his comedy show Robot, the actor and winner will also mentor young children who will be participating in the Dancing Star Junior show. “I need to teach four children to be good dancers. Meanwhile, I would want to continue and create some good episodes for Robot,” he says.

Speaking about the judges, Anand opines that Ravichandran was quite frank with his comments while Mayuri is a perfectionist and Priyamani, using her dancing experience on the silver screen, showed  excellent judging skills. “The humility of Ravichandran manifested when he openly admitted that he cannot judge a particular dance sequence and passed the decision on to the dancer Mayuri. One really requires a down-to-earth nature to do that in front of the camera,” he says.
