It's Meghana Raj in R Chandru's Lakshmana

The svelte actress will be paired with newbie Anup Revanna in the action film, which will go on floors on July 7

A Sharadhaa

Director R Chandru released the first look and trailer of Lakshmana earlier this month but did not reveal who the leading lady would be. Now, sources tell us that Meghana Raj has been chosen for the role opposite politician H M Revanna’s son Anup. The official announcement, however, will only be made on July 7, the day the film will go on floors.

The young actress has been successfully portraying good roles in Malayalam and Kannada films. And she signed up for Lakshmana because of the director, who has given hits like Taj Mahal, Mylari and Charminar in the past. Charminar was also recently released in Telugu as Krishnamma Kalipindi Iddarini.

Meghana is currently busy shooting for the Kannada film Bhujanga helmed by first-time director Jeeva and the actress is paired opposite Prajwal Devaraj.  She is almost done with her Malayalam project Hallelujah with Narain. The actress, we hear, will complete her pending commitments before she joins the sets of Lakshamana.

Meanwhile, Meghana is also waiting for the release of K M Chaitanya’s Aatagara, which will probably be in July.
