Director Sarvanan, in his quest for the perfect leading lady for Chakravyuha, has shown the door to yet another actress. Pallavi Subhash who had earlier replaced Poonam Bajwa as Puneeth’s on-screen love interest. Following her removal from the project, Rachita Ram is rumoured to be the director’s next choice.
The replacement of heroines in big projects has become a regular affair in Sandalwood. And this time, after watching the rushes of the film, the director felt that Pallavi Subhash looked too old for Puneeth Rajkumar.
Lohith N K, one of the youngest producers to enter the industry, agreed to the replacement as he was not ready to compromise with his debut project. “Sarvanan is trying to make sure that we have everything we need to make a good film. He felt it would be better to change the actress in the initial stages of the film than to regret later. In the 20 days of shooting, Pallavi had only acted for three days. Those portions will be shot all over again,” he explains.
The makers of Puneeth’s 25th film are now on the hunt for a Kannada heroine, and sources say that Rachita Ram might step in to replace Pallavi Subhash. If the actress, who is currently riding high with the success of the Sudeep-starrer Ranna, agrees and if everything goes as planned, Chakravyuha will be her the next big film in Sandalwood. Rachita is currently busy with Rathavara and will start Bharjari with Dhruva Sarja directed by Chethan that is going on floors from July 15.

The 1983 film Chakravyuha took actor Ambareesh’s career to new heights. He played the role of an angry young man that earned him the title, Rebel Star. The film was remade in Hindi as Inquilaab starring Amitabh Bachchan, and in Telugu as Mukhyamanthri. The title is now back in the light as Saravanan has choosen it for Puneeth Rajkumar’s 25th film.
