Puttanna Kathe, Trailer Goes Viral

Express News Service

Usually, songs of actor Komal’s films are quick to go viral on social media, but now it is the trailer of his next movie Kathe-Chitrakathe-Nirdeshana-Puttanna that is all the rage. The director of Dandupalya fame, Srinivas Raju, released the trailer yesterday on Diwali and in a day, it has gone viral on YouTube, garnering around 35,000 viewers. Komal, giving us a glimpse of Kathe..., says it is a horror-comedy. “Usually every film starts with a director’s card, which says,  Story-Screenplay-Direction. But the hero in the film is a big fan of director Puttanna Kanagal and he writes a story imagining the director as a character. The story is all about how he convinces the producers and that leads to lots of views and counter views,” he says.

Komal says that after Namo Bhootatma, he did get a lot of offers of a similar genre, but he did not accept them. “I didn’t wish to be the brand ambassador of horror movies and rejected quite a few. However, director Srinivas’s film had a good story. Good actors like Priyamani and Ravishankar were also part of the project. I had the opportunity to work with good technicians and so I picked it up,” he says.
