'Dialogue king' given few words in Madamakki

A Sharadhaa

Madamakki is Vinay Preetham's debut directorial and he has picked a story set in the underworld, reportedly based on don Sadhu Shetty. Born in a village near Udupi, Shetty accidentally killed a local leader with the Shiv Sena in Mumbai and thus entered a life of crime.

The film featuring Thanush as the supari killer will see Sai Kumar in yet another interesting role. According to Vinay, the 200-plus actor, who is known as the 'Dialogue King', will have very few lines to say in this film.

"He plays the role of an ATS officer and has a few but forceful dialogues, and each is done in two to three lines. His body language does most of the talking," says the director.

The debutant, who believes that they can experiment with this dark genre, throws light on the connection between the underworld in Mangaluru and in Mumbai.

"The film is about Sadhu, who goes from Bengaluru to Mumbai and returns to Bengaluru. Seventy per cent of the shooting was done in forests," says the director.

Before turning director, Vinay was assisting music director V Manohar and has worked in serials made under his production house.

Produced by Shivanna Dasanapura, this movie features Nikita Narayan as the female lead along with Tara, Muni, Karisubbu and Rajendra Karana.

Madamakki has Anoop Seelin scoring the music.
