Express News Service

When actor Shruti, the winner of Bigg Boss season 3, lifted her trophy on Sunday night, it was a dream come true for her teenage daughter.

Chandan, small-screen actor who has recently made his foray into Sandalwood, bagged the runner-up.

During her 98-day stay at the Bigg Boss house with 19 other contestants, Shruti was determined to land the top spot in the telly reality show as her daughter Gowri had her heart set on it.

This encouraged her, Shruti had said earlier. “I have never got her anything in life, and I had to win this game for her. It was a life changing experience for all the contestants too,” she says.

For many, Shruti emerging as the winner came as a surprise. Most contestants had gone with TV anchor-reporter Rehman as the most likely winner. He and actors Master Anand and Pooja Gandhi finished in the top five.

Shruti, in her 25-year film career, has appeared in around 120 Kannada movies and a few Tamil and Malayalam flicks. Most recently, she has worked with Vijay Raghavendra in Shivayogi Sri Puttayyajja.

She has won two state awards as well and appreciated for her roles in her many films.

She is actor Sharan’s sister. The actor-politician was a mass favourite in the show.
