A few months ago, City Express had reported about director D P Raghuram helming a project for actor Gurunandan. The film, all set to go on floors from July 27, has an interesting title Missing Boy. The film also has an emotional tag line: Thayi mathu Thayinaadige (that is dedicated to all mothers).
The poster also reveals that it is based on a real-life incident. The director says that this story was told by inspector Lavakumar, about a missing boy and life after. "In 2000, a boy who went missing at
Hubbali railway station landed up in Bengaluru. The police put him in a remand room and since nobody came looking for him, he was taken to Sharda Sishu Vihar, from where he was adopted by a couple. He came back tracing his roots and this will be what our film is based on. Rangayana Raghu will play Lavakumar, who had investigated this case."
Inspector Lavakumar found the story compelling and had always wanted a director to make a film on the incident. Raghuram feels fortunate to have got this subject. "Lavakumar will also reveal some interesting facts of this incident that he had personally witnessed," says Raghuram, adding,
"Though the incident guides the storyline, my film will be cinematic and contemporary to engage today's audience."
While Raghuram is in search of a heroine, he has roped in Southern actress Kiran Rathod, who will play an interesting role with Ravi Shankar Gowda.
The director hints that it was actor Gurunandan who put him to this project. "We both work out at the same gym and we became friends," says Raghuram. "He heard the story and found it interesting and we began to work together for Missing Boy."
Music director is V Harikrishna and the cinematographer is Jagadish Wali.
Gurundanan is currently shooting KA Suresh's yet-to-be-titled project directed by Naresh Kumar.
