Alemari Santhu to Direct Sriimurali

The script written by the director is based on a true event set in early 90s and has got the actor all excited.

A Sharadhaa

After back-to-back hits with Ugramm in 2014 and Rathavaara last year, Sriimurali seems to have got the knack of identifying scripts that connect with the audience. While the actor is getting ready for his next film, to be produced by Jayyanna and helmed by debutant Narthan, he has shown interest to work with director Santhosh Kumar aka Santhu of Alemari fame.

According to sources in Gandhinagar, the actor has appreciated the script penned by the director and is now in the final stages of discussion. The producers of Mandya to Mumbai will produce the yet-to-be-titled film.

Santhu’s last film was Dove with Anup Sa Ra Govind. “He decided to take time and work on a few good scripts before taking up a project. The script has finally worked and the subject suits Sriimurali,” says our source noting that the film will take off only after the actor completes his current commitment.

Interestingly, according to available information, the film is based on a true life incident set in the early 90s, which got the actor excited.

“Everything will be officially announced as and when the actor signs on the dotted line. The makers are hoping to start in September, since Sriimurali is very particular about getting into every detail of the film, including the story, technicians involved,” sources say.
