Apoorva excited about debut

Ravichandran’s film will see a newbie whose unconventional entry has only made her more loyal to the filmmaker.

A Sharadhaa

Many times, Ravichandran has created magic, enthralled audience, paved new trends for Sandalwood, and given a new beginning to youngsters dreaming about an entry into filmdom. With his latest film, Apoorva, he has again proved that as an old-timer, creatively going into maturity, there is a will to give a chance to budding talents. And he did so with the leading lady in the film, Apoorva, a young girl who is so devoted to her ‘godfather’ that she is not even willing to reveal her real name, nor her age.

“Apoorva is the name given by Ravichandran to me and it has only brought in positivity and happiness to me,” she says while adding that her role is of a 19-year-old girl in the film. “I am 20-21 years old now,” she chuckles.

Interestingly, the aspiring actress reveals that she was initially rejected for the character only to be recalled again by the filmmaker. “I wished to become an actor by watching films and even tried my luck by sending my photos to Ravichandran. My first audition failed because I was too nervous. I was rejected and sent back. But after three months, I was called back and he auditioned me again. And now I am here,” she discloses.

Having spent two years shooting for the film and following the director’s path, the debutante is in awe with Ravichandran’s passion and dedication towards cinema. “I realised that it is only because of his love towards filmmaking that he has reached such heights.  He gives value to time and he is an expert in portraying his heroines sensibly in every frame,” says the first year B.Com student, who did most of her shots at Ravichandran’s home.

According to the actress, her future will be decided after the release of the film and it will be Ravichandran who will direct her course of action in filmdom. “He taught me to act. I have learnt patience from him. Now, I have a long way to go under his guidance,” she says.
