Ravi Basrur’s Kataka gets a sequel

Ravi Basrur’s honest attempt with his first Kananda directorial Kataka won him critical acclaim, and now has inspired the filmmakers and the director to attempt its sequel. The film, based on real-life incidents, is set around the practice of black magic, a unique storyline that was well-received by the audience.

Script for its sequel is being written and it will delve deep into this practice, and come with a heavy dose of visual affects. In this, Ravi Basrur will travel in time and include a flashback, besides showing the present and taking a guess at the future. The music director-turned-director has completed work for Samahaara and is currently busy with the background score for Anjaniputra. While he will devote time for directing music for KGF, Ravi along with Rajkumar plans to go on floors with Kataka sequel from January.

While the cast of Kataka, including Shalaga Saligrama, Madhava Karkada, Ashok Raj, Om Guru and Spandana Prasad, will be retained. There is a chance that more actors will be roped in, and details of this will be revealed by Ravi once the project gets going.
