Uppi done with a chase and dances for Uppi Rupee

Shooting for movie progressing in Bangkok, and Upendra has shot for a fight sequence and two dance numbers

Upendra starrer Uppi Rupee, helmed by K Madesh, is currently being shot in Bangkok with a few artistes. The story penned by Vijayalakshmi Urs, who is also the movie’s producer, is on demonetisation and black money and sees Uppi play a role with a negative shade.

The team has been busy with the shoot for the past 10 days, and the artistes are done with a major fight sequence and two songs, one a club number and the other a duet. The dances have been choreographed by Murali Master to songs with lyrics written Nagendra Prasad and Kaviraj.

Director Madesh, who spoke to us from Bangkok, says that many Russian dancers were brought in for shooting the songs. Sharing a few photos from the sets, he says, “The club song promises to be a popular number like Singari Yaarne Bulbul from Gaja”.

The team will be back in town by Thursday after which Uppi may leave to Hyderabad to complete a few portions of Home Minister, the schedule of which is for a week. “Once he is back from the shooting of his other film, we plan to complete the film at one stretch,” says Madesh.

Upendra wants to be done with these two projects and then turn his attention to his nascent career in politics.Uppi Rupee is also looking to rope in Jagapathi Babu for a pivotal role, and the movie’s cast includes Rachita Ram playing the female lead,  Ravishankar, Rangayan Raghu and Shobhraj.

The film will have Sadhu Kokila’s music and Rajesh Katta’s cinematography.
