Director Madhu Chandra, who made Vascodigama, says he had a hard time getting his second film certified. The film maker had to go to film certification tribunal in New Delhi to clear his next flick Ravi History. Finally, his film received a U/A certificate. Madhu, who is upset with the way his film was treated at the regional board, says, “Individually, the censor board asked me to do unnecessary cuts and wanted me to remove a part of the song too, though there was nothing showed in bad light. We then approached the revising committee, but we didn’t see any hope. We challenged their move at Film Certification Appellate Tribunal in New Delhi and finally, the decision was made in our favour. The film was given a U/A certificate without any cuts.”
Ravi History starring newcomer Karthik Chandra is a story about a person who aspires to become a hero. But his parents want him to complete his education. How he pursues his passion and the ups and downs in his journey is what forms the theme of Madhu Chandra’s directorial. “The film also has elements of the underworld with a gangster’s love story,” reveals the director, adding, “My film about an ordinary person following his passion of acting has a non-linear narration with unexpected twists.”
Ravi History features two heroines Pallavi Raju and Aishwarya Rao. The film has two music directors - Vijeth Krishna and Suraj Sarja. The cinematography is by Anantraj Urs.
