TN Seetharam's popular serial Mayamruga is set to get a sequel, and the filmmaker will return to the small screen for helming this instalment too. Titled Matte Mayamruga, the new version will have three directors -- TN Seetharam, P Seshadri, and Nagendra Sha wielding the megaphone.

A continuation of the serial is not easy, and the director believes that there are a lot of challenges ahead. "Today, the mindset of teleserial watchers has changed. I was scared when I was offered this proposal," says Seetharam on the sidelines of the serial's muhurath.

The director shares that Matte Mayamruga will be suited to the new generation and the fast-paced world. Seetharam, who has worked in many serials like Mayamruga, Mukhta Manvanthara, Mutha Muktha, and Maha Parva, last helmed Magalu Janaki.

Matte Mayamruga will see actors Avinash, Malavika, Rajesh Nataranga, and Veena Sundar reprising their roles from the original. The filming of the serial is currently underway, and it will be aired from the third week of October on the Siri Kannada channel.
