Saji Surendran’s second film ‘Happy Husbands’ is a family flick with the right entertainment ingredients. In the director’s own words, the film is a cat and mouse game with three couples and the other woman, who comes into their lives. Jayaram, Indrajith and Jayasurya play the leading roles along with Bhavana, Samvrutha Sunil and Vandana. Rima Kallingal acts the role of a bar singer who runs into the three men. Krishnendu (Bhavana) is possessive of her husband Mukundan Menon (Jayaram), a reputed journalist. Rahul (Indrajith) and Shreya (Samvritha Sunil) are newly-wed and very loving.
But Rahul also has a roving eye and he is a skirt-chaser too.
John Mathai (Jayasurya) is a photographer at ‘Kerala Today’ run by Mukundan Menon, who meets Zarina (Vandana) and the two fall in love.
The twist happens with the arrival of Diana (Rima Kallingal) and Mukundan is attracted to her for a while. He soon wants to get out of it, but by then the damage is already done. The film, scripted by Krishna Poojapura, is inspired by the Tamil film `Charlie Chaplin’ which has been remade in Hindi as ‘No Entry’.
