'Pazasshiraja’ goes to Fukuoka Film Festival

Hariharan’s film about India’s first freedom fighter enters the competition section of the Japanese film festival.

Noted Malayalam film director Hariharan’s most recent release ‘Pazasshiraja’ has been selected for the competition section of the prestigious Fukuoka Film Festival in Japan. This year, the festival is starting on 17th September and will continue till 26th September.

‘Pazasshiraja’ was a blockbuster hit movie of 2009 with megastar Mammooty, actor Sarath Kumar, Padmapriya and Kanika in the lead roles. Others in the film include Manoj K Jayan, Suresh Krishna, Suman and Linda Arsenio.

Renowned musician Ilaiyaraaja composed music for the film, which was produced by Gokulam Gopalan. Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty was the sound designer of the movie. it was later dubbed in Tamil. The film was released on October 16, 2009.

‘Pazasshiraja’ is the only Indian movie which has been chosen for this year’s Fukuoka Film Festival.
