KOCHI: Director Kamal is all impressed with his heroine Kavya Madhavan, who has donned the lead role in his latest film ‘Gadhama’. Kavya plays Aswathy, a Hindu girl who has to lead the life of a Gadhama in Saudi Arabia.

“Kavya has received the State Award for Best Actress through my film ‘Perumazhakalam’. But the character that she plays in ‘Gadhama’ is much above the characters that she has played till date. I believe more honours and accolades would come her way after the release,” says Kamal.

“I felt that Kavya was the most appropriate actress to do this role. And ever since she was told about it, she became totally dedicated towards doing the role to perfection. She even quit eating proper food for ten to fifteen days to bring in the suffering that the character goes through,” added the director.
