Ineya, who rose to fame with Vaagai Sooda Vaa, says she got tired of waiting for good scripts in Tamil cinema. Some of her recent releases in Tamil including Thiraikku Varaadha Kadhai and Vaigai Express weren’t successful. She says she’s now decided to concentrate on Malayalam films.

“I am part of Appa’s Malayalam remake, where I’ll be seen playing Jayaram sir’s wife. He’s playing the role essayed by Samuthirakani in the original, apart from also directing the film. Honestly, I feel I am getting better roles there,” she says.

But that doesn’t stop Ineya from doing Tamil films. “Sathura Adi 3500, a Stephen directorial, which released on Friday, is based on a real-life incident that happened in Chennai. Actor Rahman is also a part of the film. It’s not a run-of-the-mill horror film. The narration is quite thrilling. The film also touches on the existence of ghosts, and the travel of our soul,” she says.

Since the actress didn’t turn up for the audio launch recently, Bhagyaraj had commented, “It’s a loss only for her and not the crew.” She clarifies, “I couldn’t come as I wasn’t feeling well. I had an ankle sprain followed by food poisoning. But I am not pissed off at Bhagyaraj sir for having made such a statement because he didn’t know the truth. I am sure the team missed conveying it to him. I respect him for his experience.”

Sathura Adi 3500 was shot extensively in Bengaluru, Chalakudy, ECR and other interior parts of Chennai. The film features Kovai Sarala, MS Bhaskar and Manobala, among others.

Ineya is also awaiting the release of the Bharath-starrer Pottu that has Namita, Srushti Dange and Manisha Yadav in important roles.
