In a noble gesture, actor Unni Mukundan and the crew of Chanakya Thantram, including its director Kannan Thamarakulam, pledged to donate eye. This is probably the first time that the entire crew of a movie undertakes a similar endeavour.According to the actor, he had the idea in his mind for long. "When I shared the thought with director Kannan Thamarakulam, my plan was to get a few others to emulate the same. But, to my surprise, as many as 100  members of the crew came forward supporting the mission," he said.

Unni Mukundan added that there were a lot of people who are influenced by what actors do. "I hope this gesture gets imitated. This is an opportunity to shed light on a visually challenged person's life. Not just eyes, donating an organ is a noble gesture," he said. Scriptwriter Dinesh Pallath, producer Muhammed Faisal,  Arun Narayanan and actor Niyas too joined the endeavour.
