'Sahasram' (Malayalam, Murder mystery, 2010)

Directed by prominent serial director S Janardhanan, the Suresh Gopi-starrer Sahasram hit screens on December 3. The film, rated as a high-voltage suspense thriller, is turning to be a breather for action hero Suresh Gopi, who has been in search of a solo hit for sometime now.
Vaishakh and Yamuna are two film personalities. Vaishakh is an art director in the cinema field and Yamuna is a leading film actress. In the course of their love story, an incident takes place which transforms Vaishakh’s life, bringing tremors in it.
Vaishakh finds himself becoming a victim of a murder case. He becomes a suspect in actor Sudheer’s murder. Giving him another jolt, Yamuna commits suicide, which disturbs Vaishakh and makes him take a different direction in life. With this, the story takes another turn. Bala dons the role of Vaishakh, while Sarayu is Yamuna. Suresh Gopi, who dons the role of Sahasranamam IPS, is entrusted with the task of unearthing the mystery behind the murder.
“'Sahasram' unfolds the story of cinema within the cinema. The movie is a blend of suspense, romance and comedy,” says S Janardhanan.
'Sahasram' also gives due importance to computer graphics and music. M Jayachandran has rendered the music to the lyrics of Kaithparam. Another highlight of the movie is the strong performance by Sandhya ('Kaadhal' fame), who is making a strong comeback to Mollywood. Her last Malayalam release was 'Cycle'.
The movie also has Jagathy Sreekumar, Suresh Krishna, Lakshmy Gopalaswamy and Risa Bava. Mahesh Narayanan is the editor of the movie, which is cinematographed by UK Senthil Kumar.
