He has yet to get over his first film Kadal, but actor Gautham Karthik has bagged his third project – the Tamil remake of Nandini Reddy’s Ala Modalaindi.

Confirming the news, director Ravi Thyagarajan said, “Gautham has been roped in for the Tamil remake of Ala Modalaindi. He will reprise the role originally played by Nani. The search for the rest of the cast and crew is underway and we are likely to start shooting soon.” 

“The film will be canned in places such as Mysore, Hyderabad and a few international locales,” he added.

Nani was paired with Nithya Menon in the original, which was one of the highly successful Telugu films of 2012. Made on a low budget, it reportedly raked in over Rs 15 crore.Yet-to-be-titled, the film will be produced by P Ravikumar and PV Prasad under the banner Ravi Prasad productions. D Imman has been roped in as the composer.Meanwhile, Gautham will begin work on his second project with director Saravanan from this month.
