Chinmayi croons for Marathi flick Baaji

Express News Service

singer Chinmayi Sripada recently recorded a song for the Marathi movie Baaji. The title track composed by Atif Afzal was rendered by Chinmayi as she was instructed over phone by Afzal from Mumbai and recorded in a studio in Chennai.

Chinmayi, who is popular for numbers like Tere Bina and Maiya, had a great time recording the track Majha Baaji. The number establishes the character essayed by Shreyas Talpade. Taking a novel route for recording the song,  not being face-to-face, however, didn’t seem to have had an impact on the final recording. Majha baaji appears twice in the movie album — one in the main sequence, and as an unplugged version.

Afzal was all praise for the singer and said she was one of the most versatile singers in the industry. The composer made his debut in Pune 52. He is also set for his next release Monsoon Shootout, which stars Nawazzudin Siddique.
