'Kasi', one of the films for which actor Vikram was praised for his acting skills, will now be remade in Sinhala language. The film that was originally directed in Tamil by Malayalam director Vinayan and music scored by Illaiyaraja will now be made by Sri Lankan actor Niranjan.
Amazed after watching the film, Niranjan bought the Sinhala rights for the film. He will play the lead role besides producing the film. Kanchana Mendis and Chandrika will play heroines in the film. The film that is set for Deepavali release is titled Surya and it’ll be released both in Sinhala and Sri Lankan Tamil language. The film is set in a Sri Lankan background. The actor though feels he cannot match up to Vikram’s performance, he promises to keep up the soul of the film.
