In her debut film, 'Pokkisham', she donned the role of a 65-year-old woman.
And Anupama Kumar says she is game for more such challenges.
“If challenging roles come by, I’m ready to do my best,” says the actress. In 'Pokkisham', she played Cheran’s wife. “I had to sit with my makeup for five hours and it involved a lot of hard work and dedication, both mentally and physically. In the end, I got noticed,” she says. After working as a journalist with a TV Channel and then a model, Anupama hit the small-screen before stepping into films. Though the actress started her film career after marriage and a kid, she says, “Cinema is my passion and I’m focused on it.” Anupama will be acting in a Hindi film, 'Ishqiya', directed by Vishal Bharadwaj. It is set to release in September.
“I play a Punjabi woman in the film and I have to put on 15 kgs, as my character is that of a foodie. The length of the role doesn’t matter as long as I can make a difference in the film,” she signs off.
