HE debuted in Chennai 600028 and shot his way to fame with a memorable role in 'Subramaniyapuram'. Now his 'Vaamanan', produced by Dream Valley Corporation and directed by debutant I Ahmed, has just released. Actor Jai is on cloud nine with the response already, “Vaamanan' is my hat trick. I have been receiving calls from Madurai, Tirunelveli and Pollachi. Everyone loves the film,” he grins happily.

A relieved Jai is heading for a 45 day shoot to Thailand for his next film 'Goa' with a smile on his face. The pressure was high on him since 'Vaamanan' is his first release after 'Subramaniyapuram'. The onus to prove that he was no flash in the pan but could deliver the goods was high, making 'Vaamanan' an acid test for the actor. He is all praise for director Ahmed, “He was so cool and valued our suggestions as artistes which helped us perform better. I think Ahmed is a big gift to Tamil cinema.”

Narrating his experience shooting the risky climax shot on the 16th floor of a building he recalls, “Rahman and I did some risky fights in the construction debris. I had a ligament fracture but continued shooting despite that.” Talking about his co-star Rahman, Jai who is a  die-hard Ajith fan, reveals, “It felt wonderful working with Rahman whose last film was 'Billa' with Ajith !” With 'Adhe Neram Adhe Idam' and 'Aval Peyar Tamilarasi' due for release, Jai seems to be on a strong wicket this year.
