Actor Dhanush strictly holds the title of his father-in-law Superstar Rajnikanth’s films. It’s been illustrated with his recent films ‘Polladhavan’ and ‘Padikadhavan’. Of course, for the first time, he remakes one of Rajnikanth’s blockbusters ‘Mappilai’. The original version was directed by Rajashekar featuring Rajnikanth, Amala (Telugu Actor Nagarjuna’s wife) and Sri Vidya in lead roles.

After getting a taste of success with ‘Padikadhavan’, both Director Sooraj and Dhanush are joining hands for this film. Sooraj who earlier made super hit films ‘Thalainagaram’ and ‘Maruthamalai’ states that although it’s a remake, he will give a new look to screenplay by adding more commercial ingredients and characterizations.

Hitesh Jhabak produces the film and plans are to start the shooting by end of August.
