'Rajeshwar gave me the confidence to act'

Actor Namitha was all smiles at the audio launch of her next film 'Indira Vizha'. Directed by K Rajeshwar, this ANKK Movies film stars Namitha and Srikanth along with newcomer Hema Malini. The reason for Namitha's happiness came tumbling out in her speech. "When I first got the offer for this film in 2007, I didn't know if I could pull off the role. But director Rajeshwar gave me the confidence to act. He said that I had the necessary talent and that he would take care of the rest. He seems to have lived up to his promise," smiled the lass.

The function saw a gathering which included YG Mahendra, Vivekh, Srikanth, Balu Mahendra, Vairamuthu, producer Ashok Kotwani and Nasser.  Balu Mahendra recalled the days when his two votes for the 22 year old Rahman got him his first national award for Roja while Vairamuthu announced that he would like to make a new version of Tamil Thai Vazhthu for Tamils living beyond Indian shores and would approach Rahman for the music soon.

YG Mahendra was all praise for director Rajeshwar, "He has made a very sophisticated film with a good storyline, suspense and the right masala elements as well. He is a very thorough director, who comes very well prepared on the sets." Vivekh plays a very different role in the movie, but the actor refused to reveal any more details.

A trailer and five songs from the film were screened. The music by newcomer Yatish came in for praise from the audience.
