THE cynosure of all eyes at the audio launch of PPG Kumaran’s 'Vaigai' was none other than actor Namitha who made a quiet entry in the middle of the function. Sitting between the lead pair Visaka and Bala, she congratulated both of them. 'Vaigai' is a film set in Madurai but unlike most films on that area, there seems to be no violence in the film which is a total love story. Bala, the winner of 'Maanada Mayiladu' 2 plays the hero while a Kerala girl, debutante Visaka is his love interest. The film is directed by debutant, LR Sundarapandi.

A highlight of the film seems to be the remix of the old hit song, 'Aayiram Thaamarai'. The new version has been scored by Sabesh Murali. Two more tracks were screened for the audience which included a thiruvizha number and a duet called 'Nila Nila Va'. The film has been shot in the lush locales of Pollachi apart from Madurai and Chennai. Vaigai is based on some real life incidents which took place in the 1980’s.

The film’s cast includes TV actor Sham Ganesh who has done the role of a doctor while Ganja Karuppu is the comedian. Present on the occasion were Ganja Karuppu, Rama Narayan, Sivasakthi Pandian, M Raja, Azhagan Tamilmani, Harirajan, Radha Bharathy and KS Srinivasan amongst others. The audio was released by Namitha.
