Actor Aadhi might be just three-films-old, but the actor has proved that he is capable of choosing the right scripts that showcase his acting prowess. Any newcomer would have thought twice before taking up Mirugam, as the protagonist behaves close to  inhuman and the character’s looks are not the typical hero-kind. But Aadhi chose to take up the challenge and as a result, got himself visible to the industry bigwigs. Now, after films like Eeram and Ayyanar, the young actor is geared up for his forthcoming release, Aadu Puli that will hit the screens on February 18.

“It’s been a long time since we have seen a film, set to the storyline of a joint-family system. Aadu Puli is about three generations of a family and how happily they live until problems emerge. I play a fun-filled character, which leads a luxurious life until he falls for a girl. Instead of Tamil cinema’s conventional ‘fight scenes’ with the villain, the hero plays a mind game, hence the title Aadu Puli,” explains Aadhi. He was quite nervous on the first day of the shoot as the cast was huge including veterans in the industry like Ravichandran, KR Vijaya and Prabhu. “But they all made me feel comfortable right from day one. They made me forget my own family, and we all became a part of the reel family,” laughs Aadhi, who is still in touch with his reel family cast.

When debutant director Vijay Prakash narrated the script, what caught Aadhi’s interest  the foremost was the dialogue. “The way he treats each and every character is remarkable. Also, the mind game the hero plans and executes to win over his opponent villain is interesting,” says Aadhi, who is now busy with Aravan, directed by Vasantha Balan. Talking about his love interest in the film, Poorna, Aadhi says, “She became my good friend. She’s a very good actor and is full of energy.”And how does he go about choosing his scripts? “I’m very particular that I don’t repeat the same kind of roles in my films. I will listen to some more scripts only after completing Aravan.
