CHENNAI: Ktown will see yet another star-kid take to the silver screen soon. Anbu, the screen for Mayilsamy’s son, whose original name is Arumai Nayakam, will be seen playing the lead role in director Rasu Madhuravan’s Parthom Pazhaginom .

“My son’s original name was chosen by Kamal Haasan. For him and Anbu, the screen names were chosen by K Balachander,” says Mayilsamy. He is happy about his son’s debut with Rasu Madhuravan, who is known for his films like Mayandi Kudumbathar and Goripalayam. Twenty two-year-old Anbu, is a final year VisComm student from Loyola.

The film deals with a boy raised in a poor family who pursues higher education and falls in love with a girl in college. Rasu Madhuravan citing an incident from his life says, “There used to be this boy during college days who would run to the neem tree in the nearby girl’s hostel to pluck neem twigs to brush his teeth, although there was a neem tree in the boy’s college hostel as well. This incident is an inspiration behind making this film.”

But who has been the inspiration for newbie Anbu? None other than “Ajith, who encouraged me fours years back, when I decided to take up acting,” he says. The film will go on floors soon, from August. Joshna plays the female lead in the film.
