‘Kaavalan’ selected for Shanghai

Vijay’s film becomes the first from South India to go to the Shanghai International Film Festival next month.

CHENNAI: Actor Vijay latest release, ‘Kaavalan’, has been selected for the screening at the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival in China. The festival will be held from June 11 to 19. One of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, over 2,500 films from 80 countries have participated in the panorama section and Vijay’s ‘Kaavalan’ is the first South Indian film to be selected in the Shanghai Fest.

Vijay has been invited to participate in the festival on the day of his film’s screening. ‘Kaavalan’ hit the screens on Pongal and has run successfully for 100 days. Directed by Siddique, Vidyasagar scored the music for the movie. At present in Amsterdam for the shooting of ‘Nanban’, we hear that Vijay is on cloud nine after hearing the news.
