Actor Vimal, who has earmarked a name for himself in Kollywood with a series of successful movies, seems to be all set to experiment now.  That’s right, the actor is all set to play a city guy in his next film, titled 'Ishtam'.

Says director Nizar, “'Ishtam' is actually the remake of the Telugu hit 'Em Ayindi Ee Vela'.The lead is played by Vimal and Nisha Agarwal, the sister of Kajal Agarwal. The film’s story has a message and that concerns youngsters. Many youngsters from rural areas come to urban cities and adopt the urban lifestyle as their own. In the process, they lose their originality. The problems they face as a result is what the film is all about. We have also suggested a solution for the problem. In short, the message of the film will be ‘one shouldn’t forget one’s culture no matter where they are’.”

While the camera has been cranked by Sekar V Joseph, the music is by Thaman. Says the director, “The movie is almost done. All the talkie portions have been shot. What is left are the songs and they too will be done in the next few days.”
