Shanthnoo is no more a chocolate boy. Though his last film, Kanden, bombed at the box office, he is confident that everyone will like his character in his next flick, Aayiram Vilakku. But if you’ve mistaken this film for an action flick, Shanthnoo clears the air and says, “The posters of the film give a wrong impression. It’s got a love subject. Love blossoms between Sana Khan and me in the film. The bonding between Sathyaraj and me is of a different kind.” Directed by Hosimin, Shanthnoo plays a coolie in the movie, who befriends a don, Sathyaraj. “I found it to be a different experience. Departing from the usual city boy’s role, I had to speak in the Madurai slang,” says the actor.
Apparently, Shanthnoo has enjoyed sharing screen space with actor Sathyaraj. “Sibiraj is my good friend. I have always had the same amount of respect and regard for Sathyaraj sir as I have had for my father. I’m happy that he informed my father that I have done a good job in this film,” he says.
Shanthnoo has one more reason to be happy as he has a grand opening song for the first time. “I was happy to do a song like a mass hero. Also, there is another song about Madurai, which has Sana Khan, Sathyaraj and me praising the beauty of Madurai. And no duets were shot in any foreign location.”
Shanthnoo is impressed with Sana Khan’s hardwork in the film. “She has a prominent role to play and the love scenes between us have come out really well. She is very hardworking and even tried to chat with Madurai people to learn the language,” reveals the actor.
Next, the actor will be seen in a multistarrer, Amali Thumali, with Nakul. So, will the actor be undergoing a makeover? “I think the six or eight packs are not in trend anymore. I have been working out to keep myself fit,” says the 25-year-old actor. Did the change of spelling bring any luck? “I don’t believe in numerology, but my parents do. I believe in hard work,” he says.
