It looks like Tamil films have joined the sequel bandwagon, with another filmmaker announcing plans to do a second part for his flick. This time, it is from the director duo of the 3D flick Ambuli, Hari Shankar and Harish Narayan.  Shoot for the sequel to this just-released flick will commence in three months.

According to Hari, the movie will be bigger and better than the first part technically, and in terms of the star value of its cast. “You can even call it a 3D+ movie as we have planned to use other upcoming technology for this film. We are also trying to rope in popular actors to be part of this film to reach out to the mass audience,” said Harishankar.

While Ambuli was set in a village in late 70’s, the sequel will be based in a city, set  in the 1990s. “Most of the actors from Ambuli will be there in the sequel as well and actors Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Gokul and Jagan have been confirmed as of now,” said Harishankar

Harishankar and Harish Narayan went to all the theatres where Ambuli released to check if they were equipped to screen a 3D movie. “We had some practical problems, but one thing we are very happy about is there was no piracy threat to our movie, thanks to the 3D technology,” smiles Harishankar.
